Terms of service

Last updated 18 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you (the person or company that creates a workspace, “you”) and the operator of Krisp (“Krisp”, “we”) for the use of the service at krisp.chat and the chat it puts on your websites. By creating a workspace you accept them. They are written to be read; ask us about anything unclear.

Operator. Krisp is operated by Krisp Chat Inc., 1209 Orange Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States (Delaware file no. 7482910).

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and, if you sign up for a company, allowed to bind it to these terms.
  • You are responsible for what is done with your account and your workspace, for keeping your password and any API key secret, and for the people you invite.
  • Tell us at once if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Acceptable use

Use Krisp to talk to your own customers and visitors. You may not use it to:

  • send unsolicited messages or email, or messages that are unlawful, deceptive, harassing or infringe someone’s rights;
  • upload or send malware, or attempt to make the service execute anything you upload;
  • probe, scan or test the service’s security without our written permission, interfere with it, or access data that is not yours;
  • collect visitors’ data for a purpose you have not told them about, or in breach of the law that applies to you;
  • resell the service or pass yourself off as Krisp.

We may suspend a workspace that breaks these rules, after telling you unless the matter is urgent, and will restore it when the problem is fixed.

Your visitors

You are the data controller for the people who write to you through Krisp. You must have a lawful basis for processing their data, tell them in your own privacy notice that you use Krisp, and honour their requests. We process their data as your processor under the privacy policy, which also serves as the data processing agreement between us; on request we will sign a separate one.

Plans and payment

  • The Free plan is free for as long as you use it. Paid plans are paid in advance, at the prices on the pricing page on the day you subscribe: by card through Stripe, renewed each period until you cancel, or, where offered, for one month or one year at a time with PayPal or in crypto through OxaPay. A PayPal payment changes your plan only once PayPal confirms it at the plan’s price, in the plan’s currency. We may change prices with 30 days’ notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal.
  • You may switch plans or cancel at any time from Settings → Plan & billing. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period paid for; we do not refund the remainder of a period, except where the law requires it.
  • If a card payment fails, Stripe retries it and the plan stays on for 7 days; a period paid with PayPal or OxaPay ends when it runs out. The workspace then returns to Free with your data kept, and websites or own domains beyond what Free allows are paused.
  • Hosted AI use beyond the amount included in your plan is subject to the cap you set in the dashboard; we never charge for hosted AI beyond that cap.
  • Prices exclude VAT and other taxes, which are added where they apply.

The AI

Automatic answers - from the built-in engine, an outside model, or an automation - are produced from the material you provide and may be wrong. You are responsible for what the AI says to your visitors on your behalf, for reviewing it, and for the caps and hand-off rules you set. If you connect your own AI provider, their terms govern that use and they bill you directly.

Your data

  • What you and your visitors put into Krisp stays yours. We use it only to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy.
  • You can delete conversations, contacts or the whole workspace from the dashboard at any time, and, on the plans that include them, export contacts and share transcripts.
  • If you switch on sharing with the built-in model, you grant us a licence to use the masked examples to train it; switching it off ends the licence for future training and removes your copies from the pool.
  • We keep continuous backups so that a failure on our side does not lose your data; they are not a substitute for your own export of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Krisp available at all times, and tell you about planned maintenance, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We improve the product continually; a feature may change or be withdrawn, and we will give notice of any change that removes something you rely on. Channels marked as beta may change more often.

Liability

Krisp is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses - lost profit, lost data you did not export, or losses caused by a third-party service we connect to - and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including for death, personal injury or fraud. You will hold us harmless from claims by third parties arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms.

Ending the service

You may close your workspace at any time from the dashboard; your data is removed as the privacy policy describes. We may end the agreement with 30 days’ notice, or at once if you break these terms seriously or fail to pay, and will give you the chance to export your data wherever that is reasonable.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and the Courts of the State of Delaware, USA have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to the rights consumers have under the law of their own country. If a part of these terms is found invalid, the rest stands.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change we update the date above and tell customers by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before a change that matters takes effect. Continuing to use Krisp after that date means you accept the new terms.
